Who we are
The Finnish Psychotrauma Society is ta scientific and professional society for people who in one way or another work with or do research on people affected by traumatic experiences in Finland.
The society aims to highlight the latest research on psychotraumatology. We also want to ensure that all practitioners in the field have access to internationally tested and recommended best practices and interventions. We arrange seminars and trainings annually on these topics.
The society sees collaboration between Finnish organizations and actors within the area as central to reaching these goals.
We are a member society of the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS), and collaborate with the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS).
The chairperson for the Society in 2024-2025 is Dr. Samuli Kangaslampi, university lecturer and researcher in psychotraumatology.
